In November 2010 the first snow of the winter fell and by the end of a single afternoon the village and surrounding countryside was brought to a virtual standstill. Vehicles were left stranded in and around the village and some drivers were accommodated overnight by local residents.

This event resulted in raised awareness of the fact that although both East Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire County Council have routine measures in place to alleviate such conditions there are situations in which conditions become critical in a short space of time and for which routine initiatives are inadequate.

It is with these situations in mind that Binbrook Parish Council decided to develop a local response geared to the needs and situation of the Binbrook community. The plan is designed to help the community to help itself in times of emergency/crisis in an organised and timely manner. A plan summary download is available see below.
